Academy 147 can help your engineers expand on their existing type ratings by offering Differences Training courses between two different aircraft. Our Differences Courses cover both the Theoretical and Practical Element.
Differences courses can help bridge the divide between two similar aircraft types and can allow engineers to become certifying staff without completing an entirely new initial type rating course. This allows for maintenance organizations to save time and money.
Differences courses can only be performed in certain instances depending on the aircraft types. The duration of each Differences course depends on the aircraft types and the number of differences that must be covered. All of our Differences courses are EASA Part-147 approved.
Differences training is required in order to cover the differences between two different aircraft type ratings of the same manufacturer as determined by the Agency.
Differences training has to be defined on a case to case basis taking into account the requirements contained in this Appendix III in respect of both theoretical and practical elements of type rating training.
A type rating shall only be endorsed on a licence after differences training when the applicant also complies with one of the following conditions:
